When a group of Morris dancers put on a display at John Furniss’s parish church, John got talking to the performers – and the upshot was an invitation to join them. So began 18 years of fun and frolics which took him to France, Germany and Hong Kong as well as many places around England before he moved to a different part of the country in retirement and had to wave a sad goodbye to the bell pads, the baldricks, the sticks and the white hankies. This is his account of the fun and the frolicks.
